According to Claude Joseph of Haiti’s acting Prime Minister, the attack on his private residence in the early hours of Wednesday caused the death of Jovenel Moise the President of Haiti. Joseph declared a state of siege in the nation.
Moise’s house was stormed by the attackers around 1 a.m., and the head of the state was fatally injured, according to the acting Prime Minister, who described it as a “heinous inhumane, barbaric act.”
Martine Moise from Haiti, Jovenel Moise’s first wife, was also shot and is being transported to Miami by the ambassador of Haiti to the USA for treatment.
Edmond reported that the Haitian National Police had detained two suspects and killed four others in connection with the assassination.
Bocchit Edmond was Haiti’s ambassador in the US. He said that the attack was impossible to have been carried out by US drug agents. He believes it was the work of “professionals mercenaries”.
